Finding workers that have confidence in the future is a rare thing these days but a recent survey shows that for information technology professionals there is a lot of optimism and confidence in the future.

Information technology is a growing field and professionals with training in computers and technology continue to be highly sought after. The prospects of finding a high paying job in this industry are good for those that have professional training and experience.

According to the information technology staffing company Modis, 89 percent of information technology professionals are happy in their current jobs and 64 percent say that want to stay at their current job, a percentage that is much higher than the national average.

Also, 44 percent of all information technology professionals said they expect a raise next year and only 25 percent believe they will see no change in their pay over the next 12 months.
“These results are consistent with what we are seeing and hearing on a day to day basis at Modis,” Jack Cullen, president of Modis, said in a release about the survey. “IT professionals are generally happy in their current roles and are cautiously optimistic about what 2012 may bring.”

The survey also found that cloud computing, software services, technology security and mobile solutions are expected to be some of the fastest growing areas of the information technology industry over the next several years. It will be important for information technology professionals to have training in these areas as companies are looking for workers that understand these basics and can continue to grow.

Cullen said the survey reveals a bright future for the information technology sector, but also encouraged professionals to continue to seek additional training in an effort to keep up with changing technology.

“(Information technology) shouldn’t get complacent in their careers,” Cullen said. “One of the most critical factors to IT career success is not just gaining new technical skills, but also gaining domain knowledge – a deep understanding of the specific business environment you work in, be it in financial services, health care or energy.”

Students of the Career Technical Institute’s program in information technology and computer training certification program can specialize in a variety of areas within the information technology field. By receiving professional training and experience, students have a much higher success rate at securing a job in this growing career field.

Information technology professionals have a high satisfaction with their career because they are doing what they love and are in high demand by companies all across the county. Companies are desperate to find professionals in the information technology field that can help them stay up to date on the latest technological tools and programs.

Being able to speak the native language of the country you live in is one of the most important aspects for anyone. You never want to forget your culture or heritage, but an inability to speak English in an English-speaking country like America will mean a tough time finding a good job, problems making large purchases – like a house or car – and can even make everyday tasks like going to the grocery store a difficult experience.

If you have always wanted to have a better command of the English language then participating in the Career Technical Institute’s English as a Second Language Course is a great place to start. Students receive training on grammar, conversation, reading and writing.

There are many reasons to improve your ability to speak English. Having a better command of the English language will also improve your chances at landing your dream job and will make you a more desirable candidate. The following are four reasons why taking a course in English will help you when it comes to landing a good job.

1) Communication is one of the most important parts of a job interview. You may have a stellar resume and possess a lot of skills but it will be tough to get the job you want if you can’t properly express yourself and speak adequately about your qualifications during an interview. Employers like applicants that speak confidently and having a good command of the English language is a necessity when applying for most jobs in the United States.

2) Speaking English will not only qualify you for many jobs, but will put you at the top of the list. If you can speak English along with another language, your bilingual skills can be a big asset when looking for a job. Employers often like applicants that have the ability to speak multiple languages, especially when working in customer service or call centers.

3) The ability to read, write and speak English will improve your ability to work with computers. Many jobs require an understanding of computers and different types of software and publishing systems. Writing in English is a necessity for many jobs and students of the Career Technical Institute’s English as a Second Language Course are trained to write well and prepared to work in a variety of jobs that involve computers.

4) Being able to speak and read English will make you a more informed citizen and more aware of social issues happening in your community and country. You will be able to better understand news reports, enjoy music and television and communicate with people you encounter in everyday life. The more informed you are the better you will be able to communicate with others, particularly co-workers and other persons you encounter on a daily basis at work.

An October 2011 jobs report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that overall job growth in the health care field continues to show strong growth and is expected to be one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy for many years to come. Over 40,000 health care jobs were added to the nation’s economy last month, continuing the trend that has seen job growth in the health care field for several months in a row.

That kind of job growth makes the health care field one of the best options for those looking to find stable employment and a fulfilling career. There is a high demand for nurses and doctors, but there is also a large demand for medical office professionals, including medical office assistants, receptionists, records clerks and claims processors.

A medical office professional must be able to combine administrative duties and office experience with knowledge of the medical industry. Medical and clinical offices are run much differently than traditional office settings, which is why employers are often looking for professionally trained medical office professionals that have office experience and knowledge of health care practices, terminology and record systems.

Medical office professionals serve as a crucial bridge between medical care and the administrative duties that include patient billing and health insurance records. That is why today’s medical office professionals must understand medical vocabulary, anatomy and physiology, as well as office procedures, health insurance processing and medical billing and coding. Medical office professionals are required to assist medical staff in accessing important information, while at the same time working with patients to insure bills are paid and insurance claim forms are filed correctly.

Some medical office professionals also work as health information technicians, another job that requires a dual knowledge of medical practices and administrative techniques.

The Career Technical Institute’s Medical Office Professional training program equips students with the dual knowledge they will need to qualify for a job in this growing field. Students receive hands-on training and experience in the practices required of today’s medical office professionals, as well as training in the terminology used in the health care field. Students are also trained in the different types of patient data they will be required to organize and refer to, which is information that is often vital to doctors and nurse staff.

If you enjoy office administration but would like to work in the growing health care field then becoming a medical office professional might be the right fit for you. As a student of the Career Technical Institute’s Medical Office Professional training program you will be put on the fast track to securing your dream job in the health care field and be given the training and experience to make you a desirable candidate.

It’s one of the largest professions in America and it also requires a diverse set of skills. Office administration professionals hold a variety of jobs and are often considered the main gear that allows an office to operate.

Some people think of office support staff as secretaries and view the position as entry level. However, many offices, ranging from accounting firms to medical facilities, require professionally trained office administration professionals that understand bookkeeping, how to create presentations and handle account management.

“It’s not an easy job,” David Logan, an Oklahoma City based attorney said about the job of his office administrator. “We can’t afford to have just a ‘secretary.’ We needed someone that understood how an office runs, someone that can multitask and communicates well. We also needed someone that knew how to run various software programs, like (Microsoft) Excel.”

A long lasting and good paying career can be found in office administration, especially for those that have professional training. Students in the Career Technical Institute’s Office Administration Program receive the kind of professional training that offices all across the country are looking for. Students are trained to create spreadsheets, compose correspondence, manage databases and create presentations and reports.

Students also receive hands-on training with a variety of computer programs and software that is commonly used in office settings. This kind of training makes students of the Career Technical Institute some of the most in demand in a profession that employs over 4 million people across America.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, office administration is one of the fastest growing industries. Part of this growth is because the responsibilities of a professional office administrator or office assistant have grown as offices seek to become more efficient. Instead of having an individual worker for different tasks, such as bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable, more and more offices are including these types of tasks in the job description of their office administrator. The need to increase the duties of an office administrator also mean the average salary for this position is increasing, but offices are also more selective of who they hire because they need to insure that the best possible candidate is hired and able to perform these important tasks.

Many offices are not just looking for someone with secretary experience, but instead want professionally trained office administrators they know can be trusted with a lot of responsibility.

If you are looking for a new career this might be the perfect fit, especially if you are a good communicator and enjoy working in a fast pace environment that never has a dull moment. Completing the Career Technical Institute’s Office Administration Program is the first step in entering this growing career field.

Changes in the economy have forced many small and mid-size businesses to cut back on staff but that has also meant an increase in demand for office administration professionals who can handle many of the tasks that still need to be completed.

Jan’s Flowers is a small but busy florist in a suburban shopping center that previously employed eight workers. Rising costs have forced the florist to cut back on three positions, which have left several functions that still needed to be done, especially related to office administration. That is why an office administer was hired that was able to perform a variety of tasks, which include overseeing the company’s financial records, taking care of accounts payable/receivable and other administration duties that most every business – big or small – needs to have done.

If you are looking for a stable career that will keep you busy, then office administration might be the right spot for you. Office administration is much more than working as a secretary. Students of the Career Technical Institute’s Office Administration Program learn the details of creating business reports, managing budgets on Excel spreadsheets and using a variety of desktop software.

Many companies that are cutting back are finding a higher need for office administration professionals that can handle a diverse amount of office tasks and maintain an organized system of records and budgets. This is a growing career field and companies are looking for office administration professionals that are professionally trained and understand the ins and outs of business.

In many ways language is the most important part of any job or job search. The ability to communicate effectively is the best presentation a person can make in a job interview, businesses meeting or sales pitch, and one’s ability to have a strong command of the English language is a crucial part of effective communication.

If English isn’t your first language then you have an advantage in America. The advantage you have is the ability to speak a language other than English. That is in high demand by companies that want to be able to reach speakers of other languages, such as Spanish. Many job positions give an edge to applicants that can speak a language other than English, but the ability to effectively communicate in English is still crucial.

Whether you want to expand your skills in your current job or put yourself in a better position to find a new job, Career Technical Institute’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program can help you become a better English speaker and writer.

It’s not uncommon for businesses to seek out dual-language applicants, which is one reason many students that already speak English are seeking out programs to learn other languages, such as Spanish or French. However, you can put yourself in position for a great job by successfully completing the institute’s English as a Second Language program, which will prepare you to communicate in a variety of job fields, including office administration, computers and technology, healthcare and accounting.

If the ability to speak English fluently is holding you back from the job of your dreams then completing an ESL program is the right step for you.

The most effective use of a website involves understanding the tools available to reach customers, understanding communication technologies that can be utilized and knowing what security measures are required. That is why information technology professionals with an understanding of Web development are playing a critical role in today’s economy and continue to be in high demand all across the country.

Today’s companies and organizations are in need of Web developers that not only understand how to create and design new Web pages and sites, but also understand website development and maintenance. Web server administers are in high demand and students that receive training and certification in this area are also highly sought out.

Students of the Career Technical Institute’s program in information technology and computer training certification program can specialize in Web development and administration. The program teaches students to understand Web maintenance from the ground up, including website creation/design to troubleshooting and expansion.

Many companies are becoming frustrated with hiring outside companies to handle their Web needs. When problems occur it can be costly and time consuming for issues to be fixed and outside companies do not have as clear an idea of a specific company’s needs like an in-house Web administrator might. That’s why persons possessing the skills to successfully create, maintain and expand a company’s website are in high demand. These positions often offer great pay and many students report having multiple job offers.

Ever since the economic downturn of 2008, businesses have been looking for every way possible to cut back on expenses and become more efficient. Streamlining production and increasing communication efficiency has become the name of the game and information technology professionals are playing a large part of that shirt towards efficiency.

Computers have been an important part of business for well over two decades now, but each year new uses for technology and software is created and businesses are doing their best to fully embrace technology in a way that cuts costs and increases productivity. However, the more technology that is used the more work there is for information technology professionals, especially those that have received professional training.

For example, a restaurant chain might be overhauling its computer system to better track ordered items and streamline the checkout process to help move more customers in and out. A small city hall might embrace technology and GPS to track the location of water lines so that public works employees can better find problem spots when making repairs to water pressure. Or, a warehouse is using barcodes to track packages more efficiently and allow customers to see the location of their shipment online, as well as allow delivery drivers the more efficiently coordinate routes.

These are all examples of increased technology in action and they all require information technology specialists who can help troubleshoot problems, manage data systems, train employees and overseeing the embrace of more technological tools in the work place. All these reasons are why the information technology sector is one of the nation’s fastest growing job markets, according to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau for Labor Statistics.

Information technology professionals are needed in almost every industry, from Web development, software application development and networking/communication development. If technology has always interested you and you are looking for a career in an emerging industry that offers steady growth and new experiences, becoming an information technology professional might be the perfect fit.

The healthcare industry is one of America’s largest employment sectors. From small private doctors’ offices to massive hospital complexes, medical care is big business in this country.

According to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau for Labor Statistics, there are more than 540,000 establishments and facilities in the healthcare industry, the majority of which are physician and dentist offices as they make up 76 percent of the industry. However, 40 percent of all healthcare workers are employed in a hospital, even though hospital facilities makeup less than 5 percent of healthcare facilities.

For the past several years the Bureau for Labor Statistics has ranked healthcare as one of the largest industry in America with nearly 13.5 million employees. The Bureau for Labor Statistics has also ranked the healthcare industry as one of the nation’s fastest growing as eight of the top 20 fastest-growing specific occupations in America are in the healthcare industry, including positions as a medical office professional, ranging from a medical receptionists, records clerk, claims clerk, and medical office assistant.

The reason for the large growth of medical administration support professionals is because the administration side of the healthcare industry is rapidly growing, especially as more Americans gain access to healthcare and health insurance. In fact, the Bureau for Labor Statistics states that the majority of new jobs in the healthcare field require less than four years of college education, meaning it’s not medical physicians that are making up most of the growth, but rather medical office support staff.

One reason for the constant demand to hire office support staff in the healthcare industry is because there is a very high turnover rate in the industry. Too many job seekers are simply jumping into the healthcare industry because of its growth but are not completing a quality training program. These workers quickly find that they are not prepared for their new career and often leave the profession.

At the Career Technical Institute various training programs in the area of medical office professional provide students with some of the best professional training in the nation. Students are taught to be experts on patient data, which doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers rely on to perform their jobs. This training helps students who complete the program establish long-lasting careers in the healthcare industry that employers are constantly looking for.

In addition to being in a stable career with many options for advancement, the healthcare industry offers some of the best starting pay. Wages in the healthcare industry are projected to increase by nearly 30 percent from 2004 to 2014, compared to a 14 percent average for all other employment sectors, according to the Bureau for Labor Statistics.

If you are looking for a new career then the healthcare industry is probably a great place to look. However, with a large amount of growth taking place in the area of medical office professional position this is an employment sector you can quickly enter with professional training like that from the Career Technical Institute.
